The root passion to elevate Black Women this lifetime guided my craft toward Yoruba West Afrikan Spirituality where I was chosen by Oyansa and Oshun to learn their mysteries needed to defeat White Male Domination, as well as share my Unique gifts with the World At Large. Oshun let me know she is my Mother and Oya continues to be a guardian and counselor to me in my Rights of Passage. Iyami is the sect of Vodun aligned with Witchcraft, where the Aje, or women of black power, unite forces. It is the Iyami Mysteries of Vodun that are applied to my role in Women's Rights and Empowerment.
Ayabas: Queens of Justice & Social Equality (The Red Queen)
Oyansa, Mother of 9, Guardian of the Graveyard and Messenger of the Cemetery, is a prominent figure in the Iyami, and her Ifa characteristics coin her as a Fierce Warrior of Women's Justice thus We glorify her for her achievement of equality to the Male Sex. Bearing the tomb in her womb she lays to rest the Egos that do not serve the community or the greater self. The white male ego of society sees Oya's Black Femininity as far more menacing than any OgunSango, Oxossi Exu Warrior. She cancels Male Domination economically by Ruling The Market-Place, physically by being A Guerrera if not The Best Guerrero, mentally with Grave Truth, and spiritually by Breathing The Fire.
Iyaloddes: Women of the Calabash and Sexual Equality (The Golden Goddess)
Oshun is the primary source of Iyami Aje in Vodun as she was the Peacock that took flight and became the Vulture on behalf of Huemanity, thus she earned a more powerful Divinity: Witchcraft. Oshun is a feminine principled sexuality that forms the rarest of unlikely Unions, reflecting its own Taboo nature. Her enchanting honey bewitches, rendering chauvinism null and void. The Ase of Oshun is so uniquely mysterious, envied and unrivaled, that it is considered Evil, even among the Ifa Vodun community. For attracting All forms of life, death and divinity to the reverence of the supreme Feminine Principle, we honor Oshun, The Pheonix, The Goddess, She Who Siezes The Crown.
It is the secret sexual chemistry between Oyansa's masculine applications and Oshun's uber feminine mysteries that true Iyami priestesses are blessed with when advancing in Vodun initiations. The Sisterhood of Oya and Oshun is exemplified with Lesbianism. Sisterhood, often considered Feminism, is the ability to set aside the female ego in order to Worship The Goddess by treating each other as women the way we want to be treated, but often are not in Society. Whether it be a mutual sexual healing that Men cannot or will not provide, or be it a healing of Vengeance for those of us Wronged by a failed justice system that privileges Males, the Active participation in healing each other as Black Wombmen, or Women of Power, is the foundation of The Coven.
