Black Moon phases, known as New or Dark Moons, are when the light of the Moon is completely void and undetected. Dark Moons last about 3 days and are the best times to practice Banishing Crafts, particularly when doing magick to protect against an enemy or jealousy. Many experience loss, confusion, repressed emotions and unusal flux during Dark Moons. Saturday, as ruled by Saturn, is astrologically associated with Banishing, spiritual productivity, and the color Black in traditions of witchcraft. Dark Moon Saturn-days are very productively powerful times for Protection Magick. The combination of Banishing energies of Saturday and the Banishing properties of the color Black, as well as the planetary alignment of Saturn all empower intentions of Banishing Enemies, Negativity and Blockages. Each element has its method of banishing and Protecting:

 

EARTH conceals/buries.

AIR brings and carrys away and uses spirits/etherel portection.

FIRE blinds with brillance/light/photons, and incenerates/burns away with heat and ignites(psychic vision/intuition/reveals secrets).

WATER purifies and transforms (moves around or changes (ice gas liquid plasma)) and heals with love/joy (lack of ability to perceive or project pain fear guilt or negativity etc.)

SPIRIT uses the combination of earth's balance air's spirituality fire's energy and water's divinity to Protect and endow One with powers enabling the ability to protect one's self.

 

Wearing Black is an excellent simple way to Protect ones self, mixed with white can add an element of balance and manifestation to the equation. The fact that wearing black has social stigmas is another way wearing black can protect one...it is naturally feared.
