2013 SEQUELS
ParaNorman
Good, but probably better for those who have more Fear than Power, more ignorance than knowledge. Nonetheless an accurate depiction of the conditions of a supernatural lifestyle.
Not a sequel but was viewed in December with the rest of this list.
Riddick
Barely watchable. Far too deviant from the original charms of Pitch Black with a forced narrative.
Kick Ass 2
Injected with twice as much white supremacist racism than Kick Ass 1 and slightly more morbid, but noticeably less intellectual, causing the Realism inherent in the concept to be diminished beyond repair.
Star Trek 2: Into The Darkness
Another superbly organized hit the ground running adventure with a tempered dose of action, humor, character development and nostalgia in each act. As thrilling and fun as the first, and eye regret not seeing it in the theater because it was well worth the price of admission.
The Hobbit 2: The Desolation of Smaug
The only film on this list eye saw in the theater, with hesitancy, but it remains the best film investment all year, and in years. Delightfully impressive and much less cheesy than the first Hobbit film, it proved to be the real Unexpected Journey. . . I have a new crush, Smaug!
